Detective Joe Friday (whose name has been changed to protect the innocent) is a man who carries a badge. All he wants are the facts, and he is willing to pound endless pavement and knock on endless doors to get them. Whatever crime he gets assigned to cover - be it petty fraud, larceny, illicit drug sales, or child molestation, he will find his man (or woman) and bring him to justice. Dedicated isn't even the word for a man like Joe Friday, Friday wrote the book on dedication.
Joe Friday, the seasoned veteran who has seen it all, has been promoted to Lieutenant of the Robbery-Homicide Division, where only the highest profile crimes are investigated. His primary duty will be to oversee and guide a potent and experienced team of young detectives. Friday and these RHD cops are an elite group - the best cops for the worst cases in the economically and culturally diverse neighborhoods that define Los Angeles.
Although a veteran of the beat, Joe Friday still has passion and energy that rivals and often surpasses that of his young charges. Friday will continue to express his viewpoint about cops, criminals, witnesses and justice, as well as about his new role as a (sometimes reluctant) mentor.
